High School Marching Band Season
August heat and the smell of yellow school bus diesel fumes mean one thing: high school marching band is upon us. As a kid, I grew up less than a mile from the local high school football stadium, so even if I wasn't in the band at the time I could see the glow of the stadium lights and hear the echo of the drum cadences. I can still close my eyes and remember standing in my driveway taking it all in - the sight, sounds and smells of Friday night football.

DCI World Championships are here!
It seems to have gone by quick this year. I guess maybe because of the pushed up schedule and with Finals beginning the first week of August as opposed to the second. Even so, Denver is a great place to be right now - mild temps, a great stadium, and drum corp.
If you can't make it to Denver this year, some well-known friends have you covered. Besides the coverage you get at DCI.org, the Blue Devils have put together a "backlot" site with audio & video clips and pictures - http://www.bluedevils.org/denver/.
