WGI World Championships Results
Congrats to the class champions - Scholastic "A" champ Page H.S., Independent "A" champ Elements. PSCO champ Goshen H.S., PIO champ Surround Sound. PSW champ Center Grove H.S., and PIW champ Riverside Community College. Since the start in 1993, this is the first time that percussion has had their own "weekend" showing that it is indeed a growing outlet for percussion performance.

Further Proof that SCV is going Retro
Yes, they have brought back the classic RED snareline shirt. I got one of these in 91 and look forward to replacing it this summer with a shiny new one.Posted by Ryan on 12:43 AM | Comments (2)

Santa Clara Vanguard unveils new Uniform
Santa Clara Vanguard has changed their uniforms for the 2005 season. The new uniforms are a great nod to the classic Vanguard while keeping the current trend of a tapered silhouette. This seems to go well with their current trend of doing "classic" SCV shows since it looks like they will be doing Russian Christmas Music in 2005.
The biggest change from the previous uniform is the switch from green being a primary element, to it just being an accent color. The green is used in piping around the baldric and on the gauntlets (both are white). While white pants have replaced the previous green. Purists can take a big sigh of relief as the green felt Aussie hat is still in play - good move SCV.
More information and a sizable pic are available after the jump.

Vic Firth Releases Collectible Stick Series
They have an assortment of college namesakes, oh yeah, and some KISS sticks. I didn't know Gene Simmons played the drums? Well, he's got a stick - actually he has two versions. Forget that, look at the higher education models.Vic Firth Collectible Series Sticks

Drum corp drumline videos and pictures
I'm sure it's old news by now, but I ran across this link from Pearl. It's a mini-site dedicated to Pearl-endorsed drum corps. They've got videos and pictures of the
drumlines from the Santa Clara Vanguard, Phantom Regiment, Bluecoats (who are now Yamaha for 2005), Carolina Crown, Blue Knights, and Magic of Orlando. The videos are definitely worth checking out.Pearl's DCI Summer Tour 2004
