Crossmen Move to San Antonio!

Crossmen logoYesterday the Crossmen announced they are moving to San Antonio, Texas. They will still be a part of YEA and the Cadets, but are relying on the strong education programs in Texas to support them with quality players. The new Corp Director is going to be Mark Chambers, head band director at BOA Grand National Finalist Ronald Reagan High School.

In my personal opinion, this is a smart move for the Crossmen. Drum corps are realizing the strength of the music programs in Texas and have started holding mini camps before sending players up North. Crossmen just took it one step further and actually moved there. Why spend $350 on a plane ticket every month to Illinois, Ohio, or New Jersey when someone can drive 4 hours from Dallas to ALL the Div I Crossmen camps? So...I'm placing a prediction right now: the Crossmen will be back in the Top 12 next year.

So hats off to the Crossmen and Mark Chambers! It's a smart move and I look forward to the next corp that decides to follow suit. Who's next?
